Northborne

Cossill & Webley successfully delivered the initial 8 stages of “The Patch” for Jinding between 2021 and 2025. In 2025, YourLand acquired the balance of the trading estate and Cossill & Webley was re-appointed to continue to deliver the project, reinvented as “Northborne”.

Northborne is a thoughtfully designed 1,000-lot masterplanned community in Wollert, just 25 kilometres north of Melbourne’s CBD. With only a 10-minute commute to the Hume Freeway entrance, Northborne offers easy accessibility to existing amenities in Epping, Mernda, Craigieburn and beyond.

Northborne features numerous parks that maximise retention of the stunning River Red Gums, and the heritage dry stone walls paying tribute to the past. The roads and services design by Cossill & Webley considers the retention of these important features, while also considering the rocky ground conditions that Wollert is known for. Cossill & Webley’s earthworks design for the estate minimises excavation into the hard subsurface rock layer, by utilising innovative geophysical technology from MNG Survey.

Northborne will feature a neighbourhood centre, community centre, a P-12 government school, and a 7-hectare sports field, offering urban convenience and enhanced liveability within the new neighbourhood. Cossill & Webley’s roads and paths design balances the requirements of these highly pedestrianised areas with convenient vehicle accessibility.

To unlock the development potential of the community, Cossill & Webley has designed and delivered various pieces of infrastructure including drainage wetlands and waterways, trunk services infrastructure, and major roads and intersections specified in the Wollert Precinct Structure Plan. This hard work will benefit not only residents of Northborne, but the broader surrounding area.
