Dunhelen

Dunhelen

Dunhelen is a 464-lot community in Greenvale, situated at the southern end of the Craigieburn West Precinct Structure Plan. With elevated views across Greenvale Reservoir and glimpses of the Melbourne CBD skyline, the estate will offer residents a scenic and well-connected lifestyle with a network of open space areas and pedestrian links will create a walkable, community-focused environment.

The development will leverage off existing amenities in both Greenvale and Craigieburn while introducing a new school, and restoring the Dunhelen Homestead; a remarkable heritage building dating back to the 1850s.

Cossill & Webley’s earthworks strategy for Dunhelen balances several competing priorities. Lots are required to be benched to minimise slope and enable builders to deliver homes that comply with recent updates to the National Construction Code. At the same time, road and service designs have been planned to protect significant native vegetation within the future open space areas, while also managing the level interface with Mickleham Road; an existing two-lane arterial road with funding for a six-lane upgrade in the federal and state budget.

Dunhelen reflects a considered approach to land development that respects heritage, enhances liveability, and responds to evolving planning and infrastructure needs.
