Burswood Point

Golden Sedayu’s Belmont Point is set to become a landmark development in Perth.

Bound by the Swan River on three sides and the Graham Farmer Freeway to the west, the site is also home to the Belmont Racecourse. Existing access and services were originally designed to support the racecourse and needed considerable investment to bring them up to the specification required to meet the demands of the development vision.

Cossill & Webley delivered civil engineering design and construction superintendence for Precinct D, the area of the development immediately adjacent to the Graham Farmer Freeway. This precinct is the gateway for the overall development.

The project involved the installation of major trunk services beneath the freeway, including sewer and water mains.

Site access also required upgrading to accommodate future traffic demands associated with the proposed 4,000-dwelling development.  The existing Saintly Entrance was upgraded to a new roundabout, along with the expansion of the Graham Farmer Freeway bridge to support increased vehicle and pedestrian movement.

All civil works were carefully delivered while maintaining continuous access to the racecourse for both the public and the racing community, as well as ensuring minimal disruption to Perth commuters using the cycle path along the freeway.
