Broadstead

Broadstead

Broadstead is a masterplanned residential community in Kilmore, on the fringe of metropolitan Melbourne. Unlike typical metropolitan developments, Broadstead offers significantly larger lot sizes, provided a unique regional character that reflects the area’s country-town appeal.

A key focus for Cossill & Webley throughout the engineering design process has been the preservation of the estate’s natural environment. The design prioritises the retention of a significant number of mature native trees and maximises the visual appeal of expansive landscape features, including winding waterways and open green spaces.

Unlocking the development potential of this area of South East Kilmore has involved planning for future community infrastructure, including a community hub, primary school, sports ovals, and a bus line. To support this growth, Cossill & Webley has designed trunk services infrastructure as part of the initial stages of the development, such as  a sewer pumping station and potable water mains, which will service both the Broadstead estate and the surrounding area.

Ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders has been essential to the project’s success. Cossill & Webley has worked closely with Goulburn Valley Water, Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority and Mitchell Shire Council to meet a diverse range of requirements. Together with Jinding and the broader project team, Cossill & Webley remains committed to maintaining Kilmore’s valued regional identity while delivering a high-quality, future-ready community.
