Aston Craigieburn

Aston is an award-winning masterplanned community in Craigieburn, located 30km north of Melbourne’s CBD. The estate features a 9-hectare sporting ground named Aston Fields, multiple schools, and a vibrant local shopping strip. Aston Craigieburn is the next chapter of the growing community and will feature 800-lots within the Craigieburn West Precinct Structure Plan.

A key feature of Aston Craigieburn is “The Greenline” – a future lush linear green space that connects each of the eight new park areas. Cossill & Webley’s road and services design has been carefully developed to maximise connectivity to these green spaces, while minimising impact to the many mature river red gum trees across the site.

Pedestrian and cyclist connectivity has been a core design principle. Cossill & Webley has closely collaborated with Peet and the traffic engineers at Ratio to ensure Aston Craigieburn promotes pedestrian and cyclist mobility and connectivity. Cossill & Webley has also designed four new intersections to the existing arterial road network of Mickleham Road and Craigieburn Road, providing seamless access for all modes of transport.

Drainage wetlands have been designed in close collaboration with the landscape architects at Urban Edge to ensure the functionality of the wetlands do not overshadow the aesthetic appeal or useability of the open space area.

Aston Craigieburn will continue to build on Peet’s legacy, expanding the established community with thoughtful design, environmental sensitivity, and high-quality public realm outcomes.
