The Ocean Reef Marina development is set to become a national leader of sustainable coastal living, driven by the integration of a state-of-the-art renewable energy microgrid.

Operated by Ocean Reef Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Zenith Energy, the purpose-built microgrid has been designed specifically for this mixed-use marina precinct. The system integrated embedded solar generation, battery storage, and smart city technologies to deliver clean, reliable, and cost-effective electricity for future residents and businesses.

Cossill & Webley is proud to support this transformative landmark project, delivering a range of essential engineering services including detailed design and documentation, client and utility engagement and mains supply applications with Western Power. Our team also worked closely with Energy Safety and assisted with compliance testing of low-voltage equipment associated with the microgrid works, all with the aim to help achieve the client’s sustainability goals.

Designed to reduce energy bills for future residents and businesses by up to 30%, the microgrid will also significantly cut the development’s overall carbon footprint. More than just a power solution, the system reflects the broader environmental vision of the project, contributing to its EnviroDevelopment certification and positioning Ocean Reef Marina as a leading model for future-focused, environmentally responsible urban development.
