Lead Design Engineer, Victoria (Melbourne Office)

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical expertise in civil engineering design for land development projects.
  • Use technical experience to deliver high-quality design solutions on time and budget.
  • Ensure designs meet local council and authority requirements and resolve potential issues proactively.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and development for the design team.
  • Preparation, briefing, and review of designs in accordance with recognised methods and client standards.
  • Ensure proactive communication between designers and between the design-drafting teams and solve potential issues that may affect time, cost and quality.
  • Assist with design requirements and resourcing.
  • Take ownership of current and prospective projects and deadlines and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Maintain contact with the CW team working in the office to ensure availability for designers’ guidance and supervision while demonstrating strong work ethics.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring of the Design Team, as well as liaising with the Managers and Coordinators to provide support for the design staff.

What you will need to possess:

  • Tertiary Qualified Engineer with Victorian Professional Engineering Registration.
  • MRWA accreditations WD1/WD2 & SD1/SD2.
  • Extensive experience in Victorian land development engineering design.
  • Proficient in principles of civil engineering design including, but not limited to, roadworks, drainage, earthworks, branch and reticulation sewer and water and stormwater management.
  • Deep understanding of engineering design standards, including, but not limited to, EDCM, IDM, council supplements, DTP, Melbourne Water, MRWA, Aust Roads and Australian Standards
  • Proficient in design software AutoCAD, 12D, PC Convey
  • Familiar with drainage software such as HEC-RAS, Tuflow, MUSIC
  • Strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving techniques, supervisory experience, time management and organisational capabilities, and a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to motivate and coordinate staff in a team environment while fostering a positive company culture.

Graduate Design Engineer, Victoria

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Confidently draft functional layout plans to a high standard with minimal oversight
  • A basic understanding of the fundamentals of: preliminary road grading and the requirements of AustRoads and Council standards; earthworks and retaining wall designs in 12D; road design and council and EDCM requirements; additional requirements of roundabouts; drainage design and catchment plans; basic sewer and water reticulation designs
  • Familiarity with Precinct Structure Plans, Stormwater Management Strategy, geotechnical reports, and safety in design
  • Awareness of existing service requirements, interface requirements of adjacent properties, and constructability
  • Professional development opportunities and attendance at industry events is offered and encouraged

What you will need to possess:

  • Essential: Between 0-3 years of full-time post-graduate experience or the equivalent. Training and mentoring is provided.
  • Essential: appropriate tertiary qualifications in civil engineering
  • Strong desire and capability to learn while communicating with senior members of the team
  • Commitment to quality and being proactive on meeting deadlines

Senior Civil Engineer, Perth

Key responsibilities will include:

  • The successful applicant will be involved in large master planned subdivisional and infrastructure projects for major land development clients.
  • The scope of work will include leading the design, documentation and contract administration of roads, drainage, earthworks, retaining walls, wastewater infrastructure, water reticulation and other related infrastructure works.
  • Liaise and provide expert advice to clients, authorities and sub-consultants as required.
  • Preparation of quality and timely documentation for design, tendering and construction.
  • Client facing and managing stakeholders.
  • Contributing to our company culture.

What you will need to possess:

  • Completed a degree in civil engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in land development engineering.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Be highly motivated with the ability to work in a team.
  • Have an efficient and meticulous manner with the desire to produce outstanding results for our clients on a daily basis.
